wal|lah «WOL uh», noun. British Informal, originally Anglo-Indian.
2. a person or (sometimes) animal who does or is associated with some (specified) work, thing, or place. Examples: kitchen wallah = one o works in the kitchen; jungle wallah = one who dwells in the jungle. Also, walla.
[< Anglo-Indian -wālā, as in Dilliwālā person of Delhi < Hindi -vālā of or having to do with, perhaps < Sanskrit bāla boy]
